Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Docomments was built with a "Privacy by Design" approach. We do not collect, store, or share any personal data without your knowledge. The core functionality of the app runs entirely on your device.

2. Data We Collect

Docomments processes all data locally on your Mac. We do not operate any servers that receive your data. Specifically:

• Document data: All comments and annotations are stored locally on your device. We never have access to your documents or their contents.
• No analytics or tracking: The app does not include any analytics frameworks or tracking tools.
• No advertising: The app contains no advertising networks.

3. In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)

Docomments uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat processes the following data:

• An anonymous app user ID (generated automatically, not linked to your identity)
• Purchase status
• Transaction history related to the app
• Device type and operating system version

RevenueCat acts as a data processor on our behalf. No personally identifiable information (such as your name or email address) is shared with RevenueCat. All purchase transactions are handled securely through Apple's App Store infrastructure.

4. Apple App Store

When you download or purchase Docomments through the Mac App Store, Apple processes your transaction data according to their own privacy policy. We receive anonymized and aggregated sales data from Apple but have no access to your personal Apple ID or payment information.

5. Data Storage & Retention

• Local data: All app data is stored locally on your Mac and is deleted when you uninstall the app or manually remove it.
• RevenueCat data: Purchase-related data is retained by RevenueCat for as long as necessary to manage your purchases. You can request deletion by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access: Request information about any data we process
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data (local data can be deleted by uninstalling the app; for RevenueCat data, contact us)
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format
• Objection: Object to data processing
• Complaint: File a complaint with a supervisory authority

7. Children's Privacy

Docomments does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. The app is suitable for users of all ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page. For significant changes, we will notify users through the app.
